The Sandhill Station State Campground in Lake Mills is a lovely spot on Mud Lake, a mile or so from the Glacial Drumlin State Trailhead. It has its own bicycle entrance and 15 walk-in/bike-in campsites, including group campsites.

The Southern Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest, as close as ten miles from Lake Mills, offers a number of camping experiences at Ottawa Lake, Pinewoods, Hickory Woods and Whitewater Lake.
